Spruce has faced some horrific life experiences and has risen above. Being a caregiver most of her life, she has dealt with the death of loved
ones more times than one person should have to in their lifetime. Beginning when Spruce was a young twenty-nine year old taking care of and
losing her husband to cancer, to nursing her terminally ill mother and losing three of five brothers tragically; not to mention all the pre- and
post-death arrangements and emotions to manage. And currently, she is caregiver to her elderly father. Spruce has overcome what could be
considered insurmountable odds. But, she has survived those painful valleys with a dogged determination of not letting the sorrow of life
choke her spirit. She chose to love, live and give each step of the journey.
Through Spruce's determination of choosing to rise above the pain, she went on to make history by capturing a national pageant title in her
first-ever national pageant, receiving several accolades in her pageant competitions, making history in modeling, founding her charity,
becoming a national-winning pageant coach; as well as other endeavors. She has forgiveness in her heart, determination and perseverance in
her spirit, and wants to share her nuggets of wisdom in hopes of helping others to live a fulfilled, joyful and winning life!
Knowing her Purpose is to share her heart and experiences with others, it wasn't until Spruce competed in pageantry that she was given a
voice and a platform to reach others on a much broader scale. Having competed in three state pageants and not winning, she was given the
opportunity in this same pageant system to compete for the first time in a national pageant in 2011; making history in this system by winning
the highest title of Miss Plus America Elite, as well as being bestowed with the first-ever lifetime title of Miss Plus America Essence in 2014.
No longer competing in pageantry, Spruce is now a national-winning pageant coach with an impressive record of taking her clients to the top
with a 90% success rate in the crowning and Top placing of her clients. Yes, winning the crown is important and is the goal, but as Spruce
experienced, "It's not about the crown, it's about the journey."; thus, laying the foundation for her coaching. Pageantry is much more than
winning a crown; it's about winning on the stage of life. It is Spruce's desire to take hold of a woman's heart and help her on her journey. She
is honored with every invitation she receives to pull up a chair to a woman's heart and stay awhile.
Not only is Spruce a winning pageant coach and queen, she is also a published model, speaker, and philanthropist. She has made history
modeling in Austin and LA Fashion Weeks as a full figured model; has three magazine covers, along with editorials and feature articles to her
credit; and has also been in the local, national and international media with interviews, as well as being a radio and talk show host. Spruce also
founded her charity Flip Flop to Nigeria where she collects and sends flip flops to the poor and orphans in Nigeria - in which over 5,000 pairs of
flip flops have been shipped and distributed thus far.
Spruce has a heart for volunteerism, and says that giving a smile is volunteering and could possibly save a life. Volunteering does not always
have to be a grand orchestration of deed, but as simple as giving your smile. Spruce volunteers with Traffick911, VSATexas, Parking Mobility,
and Texas Women in Business where she sits on the Board of Directors as the Programs Director. She was also a finalist for 2014 Philanthropist
of the Year with Austin Fashion Week and Texas Women in Business, and was awarded 2015 Philanthropist of the Year with Godly Girlfriend
Movement. Spruce has received proclamations from her Governor, Senator, and Mayor, as well as a police commendation from her city's
Police Chief for assisting in the apprehension of criminals.
Spruce's Purpose is to share her life and voice in hopes of making a difference in the lives of others. Her Mission is to encourage, motivate and
inspire women to love who they are where they are, to know they have a purpose, and to help them win on the stage of life! Spruce's life isn't
for her to keep to herself, but to give it away. The journey she travels is a matter of the Heart; and is about loving, living and giving.
