Truth Be Told – program at Gatesville Women’s Prison
Spruce did a great job.  First and foremost, she really owned her role.  You could tell she had prepared (she knew the program and didn't stumble over
anyone's names or their details).  I liked how she took it upon herself to make small talk with the women who arrived long before the rest of the
audience, which I think set a great example of what TBT is all about — we are a personable and approachable bunch — not high and mighty or
preachy.  She also seemed very conscientious of time.  She took the job as emcee seriously and was subtle in the way she kept everyone on schedule.
Spruce has a striking presence - it seemed to me like the audience was on board with her and responding to her banter.  Her personality seemed to
compliment the enthusiasm of the crowd nicely.

Many of my students wrote essays on Spruce's visit, and they focused on how uplifting it is to hear someone who is successful talk about struggles.  I
feel Spruce inspired them to believe they can accomplish what they dream of achieving, or maybe some were inspired just to dream!

The word of God Spruce brought to us, came with so much power, that we were ready to embrace our valley situation at the end.
